Xylitol is in a lot of products out there, as a sweetener for humans, but it is very dangerous to dogs.

Dear Tom,
Xylitol causes Hepatic disorders in dogs & is fatal.
Anyway an artificial sweetner is not a good compromise for humans too. It will have some long term effects on humans especially the kids & new borns(from pregnant mothers).
Such products at best should be avoided.
Diabetics should not switch to it.
Chocolates are bad for dogs too, due to presence of theobromine which has a adverse effect on hepatic, renal, cardiac & nervous systems. a big killer too. Not good for horses & other animals too.
On the whole we must see that we don't drop some easy pickings for these innocent animals.
Thanks you.
God bless.
