The Holistic Care

Hello dear all
I would like to set a subject for discussion....
It is about the hand mundras.

As known in Reiki we basically use the Gasho mudra....but do we know why?
Do we know what really happens when the hands are connected by this way?
We all know that it is a "natural" way to get connected with the divine Light Energy as our teachers and books teach us...
Its rarely known especially in West that we humans have 5 fingers per hand for the reason of the five elements!
In ancient Greek texts is written....to be more specific at the book of Plato "the Timeus"....
This has a major puprose...To remind us from what we and all universe is made of and then that we have everything in our very hands!
And when I say everything I mean it!

The little finger is the Earth element
The third finger is the Water element
The middle finger is the Fire element
The index finger is the Wind element
The thumb is the Ether element

Well when we connect our palms as Gasho mudra we balancing the 2 magnetic poles of our body and we let the energy to flow freely in our energy body circulatory system. All fingers are one against the other except the thumbs which are interlocked.
Traditionally the left thumb is set above the right because by this way we switch on the energy draining "mechanism" to drain Light energy from the Source and to be able to give or send after....
If we set the right above the left then we "command" our own energy to go out of our body on a targeted area,person or situation... thats why this posture its not recommended or taught in Reiki's lessons....
What this means....

Of course that even "unconsciously" we interlock the Ether element as Yin/Yang (each hand represents the positive/ negative-male/female etc) which focuses our higher selves to the spiritual plane energy....the Reiki Energy.

I would like to say that this theory is exclusively only mine from my research and for that reason I would like to hear your opinions ,views and comments or advice

Thanks for your info.
I must note that.
I have been naturally holding my thumbs parallel to each other. Never crossed them.    
Please try it & tell me the results.

I have tried it in the way i think is where i had my hands out flat and one thumb over the other, and touching parallel, Strong intense flow of Reiki..  I have someone to try it on.  But not exaclty quite sure how to try the one you have said.

Also i have tried the opposite way joining the 5th fingers touching each other and have a similar effect.  Strong intense flow of Reiki.

Please can you explain a bit more.

Well the thumbs are just like a switch of a circuit...
We can adjust what kind of action or type of energy we want to receive/use or give/send!!!

Ok! many Reiki practitioners use this mudra to activate the flow although there is a difference. The left thumb above type combination calls down divine energy the right thumb above makes your own energy to come out from your body and act for any kind of reason good....or evil!
If you use your energy even to heal you will fill and be exhausted!
