Thank you dear Tanisha.....warrior mother!!!  ;D  ;D  ;D
Stefen thank you my bro its true that the company/class is wonderful :D

Well as it has to do with the medical/healind side of the various arts and styles of all ancient martial systems and philosophies...
There is a very wide and strong relationship between these seemingly opposite arts....The martial art and the healing art!
Indeed the one can not exist without the other!
Why this? Because from the martial view if someone has the knowledge to heal and create then he has the knowledge to destroy better and easier...
From the side of the healing art if someone do not know how to heal him self or his comrades,if in situation of injury he or they are unable to accomplice the mission!!!
By this way if we have a deeper research in martial arts we can see that the Chi energy can be used by both ways...the one to heal and rejuvenate and the one which is used to harm or kill sometimes with a touch!
The acupuncture method is based on the energy circulation system of the human body and on the yin/yang (in/yo) elements.
There are crossing energy channel points which are named as Tsubo where a needle can treat or a strike can cause maulfunction and death!
Thanks god Reiki is oneway method! And I think that is one of the best healing methods!
The same happens at the medical-herbal which can make healing medicines or poisons as well it depends from the situation and the usage!

Wow John,
Thanks for sharing. ;D
I never looked at it from that point of view, very interesting information that you have provided for us. ;D
Do you incorporate reiki in your class as well? If so, then this is really great, like a two for one. lol ;D
It reminds me of Mr. Miagi from "The Karate Kid, when Daniel Son got injured, and Mr. Miagi clapped and rubbed his hands vigorously to heal Daniel Sons leg in order for him to finish the fight.

Do please keep these lessons coming ;D.

Love and light,

Tanisha

Dear Tanisha thats a pretty good example but there are much more beside....
As it has to do with Ninja....in their teams there were extra skilled fighters/healers who had to be fast and clever because if they were injured then the whole team had serious prob...although its one one used to know much more than the basics of healing and medical methods....
They knew how to made medicines and strong poisons which they used to "baptise" their blades...
They used to use the Kuji-in hand mundras (postures) which made them able to control their energies and feelings but their enemies too as well!
They were able to win their fears, stress and confusion or stop fever and bleeding, heal illnesses....also to live in great heat or freeze for days without food and water...and of course psychic abilities and meditation under any situation...
The Kuji-in method is an ancient Buddhist, Taoist(ZEN) which were mountain fighters monks which in our days wrongly is named as sorcery and for this the teachings have stopped for the public....
For that reason now mostly people who are Ninjutsu students and practitioners are learning Shiatsu and/or Reiki.....only few are able to use this amazing method!

Namaste

Dear Friends,
Both Martial arts & Healing arts are Complimentary.
When practising martial arts one learns the virtues of discipline which is associated with Healing forms. Also most forms of martial arts have some form of energy /chi work for balance & deeper development.
Also I feel Reiki/pranic healing & other lightwork is incomplete on a personal development  front without exercise forms like yoga, athletics, weight training, martial arts etc. to improve ones self.
God Bless
