Feeling Energy?

Hello, I am wondering how I will know that the attunement process has worked or is working. Many people speak of feeling the warm energy in their crown chakra and in their palms. What if I do not feel this? Does that mean that I was not in the proper mental or meditative state to receive the attunement. I ask because I think I have received the level 1 attunement before and I do not feel the sensations that most people mention and when I try to do reiki I feel some warmth in my palms but I am not sure if I am imagining it or if it is just because touching another warm body makes my hands feel warm when they are usually cool.

Actually everybody is different and not all people can feel the energy in the same way.
Some does not feel it at all during the attunements but that does not mean you did not receive it .
If you are sure the person that gave it to you did it then you got attuned if you meant to accept it.
Anyway the distance and time are not a function when dealing with energies so you can "re-cal" this attunement
any time by telling your higher self to accept this attunement.
I do this sometimes :
I tell my higher self :
I want to re-attune myself to the ... Reiki level ... that was sent to me for my highest good and the strongest
I can handle .
The attunement can not be forced on you. You have to accept it .
You have to tell your higher self that you accept it or be conscious to the fact you really want it .
Then see if you felt different! Anyway even if you did not feel anything it's ok!

My personal experience............
I was already aware of light energy in my teens & also assisted local healers.
When I was attuned to Usui Reiki 1, that too hands on & through a very good lineage, I hardly felt anything. My teacher was very good in his methods & reputed. I was surprised that nothing really extra ordinary happened. Yet I continued the hands on positions & in 3 days time I had all the famous sensations associated with Reiki along with the ones that I already used to get when healing.
My teacher had advised me to be innocent like a child & not to preconceive thoughts. I think I will advise you the same.
