Happy Festival of Rakhi

Post by chandresh_kumar »

Rakhi is short name of Raksha Bandhan. It is one of the most popular festival of India.

Meaning of Raksha Bandhan means a thread to protect. Sisters tie this sacred thread on their brothers wrists, and pray for their long life, in return of that Brothers assures her for life-long protection. Few other names of this festival are Vish Tarak (destroyer of poison), Punya Pradayak (offer of boons), and Pap Nashak (destroyer of sins)...

There are many mythological stories are related with this festival. However protection can be postulated from brother, sister, friend, parents, guru or from anyone, whom you trust.

On this auspicious festival, I would ask protection of Every member of THC from Negative Energies. Friends, please send positive energy to each other for good physical and mental health, peace, love, wealth, nice moral and ..... obviously Highest Good...

Kind regards

Wishing you also Happy Coconut Full Moon Day.
It is a special day for fisher-folks on the western coast of India especially around Mumbai.
After the Monsoon season begin in June they do not venture to go fishing due to stormy seas.
From today after the (Coconut Pooja)prayers they go out into the sea again.
One of my favourite festivals.

Dear Chandresh thanks for the lovely post.
Blessings.
